What are the demographics (if anyone pays >attention to that kinda' thing)? > i too have studied demographics, and psychographics. in marketing, demographics puts you in the consumers neighborhood, psycographics puts you in their head. when the neville brothers played connecticut as part of a bb king touring festival, the audience (about 3,500) was mostly white. a mixture of blue-collar workers, and urban professionals. Moms, dads, kids, teens, gen-xers, bikers, accountants, office workers, nurses, golfers, and just plain joes. that is exactly what i expect when i go to events in the new england area. white people are the ones that are buying blues music, and attending blues events. i have stood on stage in hartford in front of 6,000 people (at a 'blues' event), and it is an ocean of white. and yes, these are the same people that go to see Celine Dion, Cher, Norah Jones, the Eagles, Paul McCartney, Dave Matthews, the Blue Man Group, Stomp, Cirque du Soliel and much more. when i go to a latin event in the hartford area, i see an ocean of latinos and latinas and very few whites. and that too, is exactly what i expect when i go to a latin event. in the new england area (where i pay attention to commercial radio, television, newsprint and shopping demographics), the reasearch indicates that the blues music buyers and blues event go-ers, are white males, between the ages of 18 and 54. these numbers have not changed much in over a decade. see ya on the radio, Beef Stew .
