African musician at Montreal Jazz Festival...please help!

About a year ago, I saw a broadcast of a performance from the Montreal Jazz
Festival, of a black African musician (male), and his group. The guy played
an acoustic guitar, and there were probably 5 or so other performers with
him. His music was acoustic based (at least at that performance), really
laid-back and pretty. I wish I had more info but I waited until the end
credits and they did not mention his name. I have been trying in vain for a
year to find out who it was, because it was awesome. The venue looked like
the inside of someone's house or a small venue. The lights were up a bit and
there was a lot of wood, and people all around in a very intimate seating
arrangement, no stage or anything, and if I remember, many people were
sitting on the floor.
Man I know this is vague but if ANYONE has an idea, please help me out!!!
