For all RMBers who are within traveling distance of Burlington,
Vermont,
I highly recommend your checking out the Burlington Discover Jazz
Festival, being held from Monday, June 2 through Sunday, June 8.
The headliners are Sonny Rollins (Friday June 6) and Dave Holland Big
Band (Saturday, June 7) -- both at Burlington's art deco masterpiece,
the Flynn Theatre.
The rest of the line-up is equally impressive, and includes:
Andrew Hill Quartet
Alfredo de la Fe and his Orchestra
Ray Anderson's Pocket Brass Band
Jean-Michel Pilc Trio
John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers
Matthew Shipp String Trio
Trey Anastasio (2 nights)
Duke Ellington Sacred Concert
There will be lots of free events out of doors featuring concerts in
the park, a Saturday night block party, and jazz in our local bars and
pubs.
