The online voting and notification of winners for the National Smooth Jazz Awards will still take place as planned. Tim Goodwin, ShoCorp's President and Executive Producer stated, "To properly organize an awards ceremony of this magnitude requires a myriad of things to fall in place. Due to our current world climate, several of the valuable participants in this endeavor are apprehensive about rising to the commitment level that is required to make this event a success. We regret that we will not be doing the ceremony as envisioned, but feel that it is still important to recognize the achievements of the nominated artists and we will proceed in presenting the Awards that the fans bestowed upon them." Nominations are currently being tabulated by Radio & Records, Inc., which will be announced on April 22. Online voting will begin immediately by the public at www.nationalsmoothjazzawards.com. Voting will end one week prior to the June 18 awards announcement. Goodwin continued stating, "as we move towards next year, our plans are to continue the tradition of hosting an awards ceremony for the public."
