I'm skeptical whenever I hear the words "Smooth" and "jazz-based". It
says "fashion" rather than anything about a commitment to Jazz. When
the Smooth fad goes away, where will the station go?
From the CoolFM website:
"Our COOL music is "Smooth Jazz" - a blend of popular jazz-based
selections featuring prominent contemporary artists. Diana Krall,
Holly Cole, Natalie Cole, Molly Johnson and others are all part of the
foundation of COOL FM. Our COOL blend will include traditional jazz
selections including legendary jazz masters such as Oscar Peterson,
Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, Frank Sinatra, Dave
Brubeck and many others. "
