I hit the button for the other classic rock station on my way to work one day last week and there was a Steely Dan type instrumental playing. I thought that was odd and the next song came on with some Kenny D type jello playing. Hmm, the announcer finally comes on and says WLOL smooth jazz. Got to the office and e-mailed Bob the local clearchannel programmer and he e-mailed right back and said "yup". We switched it. And just like that my most listed to station was gone. The other, old established classic rock station, KQRS use to play the most music. Now they talk all morning and play ads the rest of the time, with an occasional classic rock song in there somewhere. Radio truly sucks. Bob says that the market for the smooth jazz is double that for the classic rock, so just like that, they pulled the plug, and fired up Kenny and Chuck and the gang on their smooth horns. Bummer...
