goodness...y'all read like professionals... understanding the how & why the swing doesn't flow... perhaps with y'all's help, i'll learn 'nough to enjoy golf, or at least become good 'nough to reward my s.o.'s patience... a beginner, i recognize many of what y'all suggest are "common swing faults"... yet this wrist cup or cock, i'm not quite sure what that is, for i find that my wrists stay in one position thru out the swing, or at least i don't notice 'em changing... and i've learnt to hold the club, for the most part with just three fingers to where the index finger of the left hand interlocks with the other hand and both thumbs allign up with each other, thus the wrists seem to remain stationary in their position... being a woman, i find the interlocking, versus not interlocking enables me to hold onto the club with less strength and prevents the club from slipping... if i may list a few common swing faults that i've noticed doesn't move the ball where i had hoped, or visualized for it to go... raising my head up too soon, not realizing that it will take much time for the ball to come back down to earth, to where i'd eventually see it anyways... being too tense and not just relaxing and letting everything flow... not squaring up my stance sooo as to line up toward the green... weight distribution not even when addressing the ball... weight not shifting, first to the right on the up swing, then to the left on the down swing... and not letting the hips pull the club thru... taking the club back too far to where the shoulder naturally moves the head, thus taking the swing out of alignment... stopping at the top of the back swing, versus just letting it flow smoothly thruout... or trying to pull down the club during the downswing, as if to add power to the swing, versus just letting the club do the work... following thru to where the right shoulder naturally raises the head up and the body squares up with the green... perhaps from this detail, y'all might be able to make suggestions as to how i might improve... thanks!...
