Hey All, I was watching the GC for a bit today an saw Swing for a Lifetime about Samuel Jackson Snead's golf swing. A few facts as I recall. Snead at age 71 shot a 60 on an 18 hole course. Snead at age 67 shot 66 67 in the first two rounds of a PGA tour event (don't remember which one). Snead is the oldest winner of a PGA Tour event - GHO in 1965 at age 52+ as I recall. On the show Gary Player said Snead had the greatest golf swing ever. Nicklaus said Snead had the swing he most wanted to copy. Trevino said If a youngster was gonna copy a swing - copy Snead's. (all paraphrased) When I was learning golf (mostly self-teaching) in the early 70's I had two books - Hogans Fundamentals... and Snead's Swing Easy Hit Hard. I did all I could to copy Snead especially after seeing him on TV. To date Snead's is - by far - the greatest golf swing I've ever seen. Gene Littler is probably a distant second and Nick Faldo or Annicka Sorenstam a close (to second) third (I probably have to put Els in there somewhere). If only Snead could putt... Anyway I was wondering who do you most admire or try to pattern your swing after? Take Care! -Ed-
