I agree.... The basic things are obviously the best place to start. One of the problems I haved faced with golf pro's are that they tend to provide band-aid solutions, rather than starting from the beginning. Most of them have said that my posture and takeaway is fine, it is mainly my transition that sucks. While that may be true, I look at the video and see that I do tend to slouch a little and my backswing becomes steep about 2/3 of the way up. None of the pro's have corrected these basic errors. My grip looks good, knee flex and head position during the swing seems ok. My weight shift looks OK, but perhaps a little too slow to get my hips working on the downswing. But the lifting above my plane on the last part of the backswing has never been picked - it is really obvious on video from now and from months ago. I wonder why nothing has been said to me by the pro's about this move before, as surely my downswing is doomed if I stuff up the last part of the backswing??? All comments are appreciated. I am not a swing expert, but I am taking the time now to compare my swing to the sequences I have of some tour pro's. I have had three golf pro's in three years with three completely opposing swing directions - it is all getting a little confusing. My video camera has proven to be a far better investment than golf lessons - at least it doesn't change its' opinion!!
