Ok, first, you need to check if your drive is capable of playing or even ripping the CDG formatted disks first - odds are good that a laptop drive won't be able to do this - but if it is, you can play the disks directly using suitable software. Obviously, if it isn't, you will need to either use a full sized pc with a cdg compatable drive (usually this means plextor, but there are others) and convert your existing disks to cdg+mp3 format - or rely on the generosity of the members of the alt.binaries.sounds.karaoke ng to post the disks you have already formatted in that state. In either case, you will need a player for the laptop. that ranges from the expensive but preferred WinCDG package, to the free winamp package. winamp can only play the encoded (mp3+cdg) files, while WinCDG can also play the CDG disks directly. http://www.karaokeplayground.co.uk/ is a good place to read about the software available, and has a forum where you can discuss any problems you may have making that software work.
