Some scripts have approved lyric changes for high school. Years ago, there was
an approved lyric change for GREASE in Greased light'ning --- changing "pussy
wagon" for "draggin' wagon" and "the girls will cream" to "the girls will
scream"
And I remember getting a copy of
"Dance 10. . ." with alternate lyrics of "This and That" -- which takes the
heart out of the number, IMHO.
But I'm sure that the licensers are aware that a lot of money is to be made
from high school productions being licensed, and the schools have school boards
with no sense of humor !
