What might be fun is an old-fashioned EDLIS exercise of doing
something constructive with an outcome, if that is not too out of
fashion.
If every rec.music.dylan reader were to look in this database for a
song copyrighted to Bob Dylan for which we have no lyrics on the web
and then transcribe and put those lyrics on the web even by just
posting them here, the source would grow.
To find lyrics that are already available you can just try a google
search:

if that brings up too many then add what you know to narrow the
search:

If the Web fails try Groups. Use Advanced if the going gets tough.
and if that brings up too much or too little to be useful then try a
lyric search in the usual places (though if Google and the first four
below fail it will not be often that you will get a match in the
others below, don't feel all must be checked):

Once you have a copyrighted song title see if you can find the lyrics
by transcribing a recording or taking them from a published source and
then post them here so that a future search will find the song.
If you have a title no musical artist has ever performed (EDLIS knows
of 350 Bob Dylan song titles covered by other artists) and for which
no lyrics can be found then post the title here in this thread and say
where you looked.
(Bear in mind in searching that the precise wording of a title can
have variants, and bear in mind, Miss I, that it is common for a song
to be registered at various dates so Nates original estimate may be
correct in spite of the copyright registration numbers.)
