But then I'm a country music loving gal. And I like the Beer for the Horses song, too. >>

I love country music too. Which is why a lot of the stuff Nashville pushes onto people gives me such cognitive dissonance. They have always walked a tightrope between "pop song" and "tradition" in the best of their stuff. But it is like Hollywood, they are so badly wanting to reach the Lowest Common Denominator that a lot of pablum is created. Did Dana say something about "Frontporch looking In"? Imagine George Burns singing it. It's in his range. Re Re Re Re, Re Re Re Re, Re Re, Re Re Re, Do. Which wouldn't be so bad, if there wasn't another song, by the same artists I beleive, with the same tune. It is practically a Rap song. Words ARE important. But so is melody. If you want to do a country Rap song, find an Auctioneer, and put a bluegrass band behind him. Songwriters are free to take this idea to the bank on me, I would like to hear it.
