It's "When Did You Leave Heaven?" a 1936 song written by Richard Whiting and Walter Bullock and recorded by many jazz/standard singers. I know that Big Bill recorded a version in France (1951) for Vogue which is probably on CD somewhere. Perhaps a search at AMG or Amazon will track something down. FWIW, Charles Brown also cut a nice version. I thought the song was called 'make a date with an angel (got no walking shoes)' so I bought a Big Bill CD with that track only to find out it is a different song. some of the words go....why did you trade heaven, for these earthly things, how did you lose your little halo etc etc. does anyone know the title of this song? and which big bill album it is on?? I have a few of his albums already. thanks Lindsay ============================== = = = Regards, = = Lindsay Morrison = = (Coochiemudlo Island, Brisbane, Australia) = = = ============================== -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
