Old Prince Fan wants to know is joining NPG worth it?

I am asking a question for the Prince fans out there who joined the NPG Music Club. As someone who buys a lot of CDs and owns a lot of Prince -- my last purchase was Rainbow Children -- and I want to get the new stuff I hear about every now and then. I was thinking of joining the club, but then I thought it might not be for me. Here is why I think this. I have no intention of travelling around the country to see shows. I don't have time to stand in line and wait for a pre-show or pay even more to see a live show. I will not be making a pilgrimage to MN for a birthday show. I like listening on-line but my computer sounds poor and I am not sure the quality of what I could download would be worth the money. But on the other hand, I want new Prince music. Is there room for a good music purchaser but not rabid fan to enjoy the NPG experience? I recently got improved high-speed internet access. If I join do I have to pay hundreds to listen to music I still have to buy in the end? I hope this does not sound too negative bc I love music and Prince music and would love to listen to "new" Prince music. So the question I submit is whether NPG music club is worth the effort for a average fan willing to purchase?
