I listen to Jazz. However, the majority of Jazz listeners are not objectivists. I have liked Jazz for a long time (since a kid) and it was not forced on me. It was very unpopular at where I lived. In fact, I heard it by chance in a bookstore, and asked the retailer about who was playing. It was Stan Getz and Laurindo Almeida. Later on I found out that kind of music was commonly called "Jazz". I had always hated the "everyone is happy, chill out" kind of music and the melancholic music distracted me. Jazz really gave me no emotions but gave me pleasure and I could do whatever I was doing a little bit uplifted. I don't really like Music to change my mood, Music which is MEANT to put me down or put me dancing. I just like enjoying it, and that could put me dancing if I had already had the mood. I always do it alone. You probably know about Ayn Rand's tastes so, I will omit them here. Mason Verger wrote: > Classical? Jazz? Rock? Rap?
