A baker's dozen links below - not sure which, if any, would be
particularly useful. The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians
people [http://www.grovemusic.com/VALIDATE] want wadges of money for
access. Unless we could convince them that umf [or umn, when it
starts] is a secondary school, I would think it not affordable for
many.

Virginia Tech Multimedia Music Dictionary
Frames only, VERY American, with some interesting [sometimes silly]
things. Offers British, American, French, German and Italian note
names; gives the American Sign Language Symbols for notes; and shows,
in addition to the "normal" scales that we all know and love, Gypsy,
Octotonic, and Blues scales. [The sound file thingies give the
[Murkin] pronunciation of the entry name, not anything musical.]
