2004 DIY MUSIC FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES Deluxe Prize Package and Showcases Slated For Festival's Third Edition LOS ANGELES (July 11, 2003) _ The 2004 DIY Music Festival is now accepting entries for its annual awards ceremony and showcase, which teams top independent talent with nationally-recognized acts as part of the 2004 DIY Convention in Los Angeles. This year, for the first time, we are holding year-round showcases in various cities, including Nashville, New York and Los Angeles. Entries to the DIY Music Festival are eligible for consideration for all dates, culminating in our grand finale in February, 2004 that will team winning entries with national acts in a major concert showcase. All entries will receive free admission to the 2004 DIY Convention in Los Angeles and DIY events in Nashville and New York. This year's DIY Album of the Year grand prize winner will receive a total prize package of goods, services and consultations worth well over $15,000. Leading the prize parade is a month's worth of attention from some of the leading companies servicing the independent music field. Acclaimed independent online retailer and hosting company CDBaby.com/HostBaby.com, national music publicity firm Luck Media & Marketing, top independent promoter Bryan Farrish Radio Promotions, internationally-known Internet designer and consultant Alcasid.com, and Imagic, the premiere digital retouching house and large format printer, will work with the winners to develop and implement a workable campaign to capitalize on their victory. It is our hope that the winner will be able to use these services and advice as a springboard to greater success in the coming year. As part of the grand prize, the winner will also receive the Bravo Disc Publisher from Primera, the worlds first and only, all-in-one CD/DVD duplicator and printer for PC and MacŪ users. In addition, our grand prize winner and other category victors will receive copies of their live music performance at the grand finale in Los Angeles, courtesy of HearItAgain.net, the leading live concert recording company. These high-quality MP3 recordings from the event can be downloaded, burned and transferred at your discretion as a special treat for your fans. Submissions to the 2004 DIY Music Festival must have been released after Jan. 1, 2001 and created using recording equipment and other tools generally available to anyone. Entries will be judged by a panel of music industry professionals using the following criteria: 1) The sophistication and potential of the music to reach a larger audience; and 2) The unique use of DIY marketing and other resources to create a compelling music experience.
