ANN: New music session in the Boro (Teesside)

It's not very often I make an announcement on this news group,
but I think this is relevant,
A new music session is to start from February 12th Wenesday 8pm
at the Poverina Hotel, Ormesby Road, Normanby, Middlesbrough.
It's an excellent location with a willing landlord and large secure
carpark.
Initially it will run on a monthly basis (every 2nd Wed of month)
i.e. 12th March, 9th April etc;
The main bar has a large raised area to be reserved for musicians,
I do not want to typecast the session into any specific category,
so not to discourage people who have preferences it will be
an open format. (not just Irish!!)
To encourage newcomers and to give learners a chance, I intend to start the night at a more sedate pace,
(from 8pm till 9pm)
I've been running session's for a few years in Redcar, which was fine,
but the problem's I have found in the past were lack of parking,
poor acoustics, getting the right sized room -
(too big a room and the musicians will be drowned out by an over
enthusiastic audience, too small and you may as well stay at home and
practice) and above all an understanding and willing landlord! This venue satisfies all the above.
