Just saw MTVIcon last night...

I just saw the MTV Icon special when they played it on VH1 last night. Basically all the lousy bands of today trying to do Metallica songs. Snoop Dogg was the worst with his rap version of "Sad But True." Korn was pretty bad, too, no wonder he does that rap screaming thing, because he can't sing. And everyone cut out solos! Staind's unplugged version of Nothing Else Matters I think, I forgot what he did, was really good though. But with everything else, how they all ruined the songs was terrible. I was surprised, though; it seemed to me that they totally denied any existence of the Loads. Avril Lavigne played "Fuel," that was it; I thought she was a pop singer and but my sister told me she was a punk rocker, so I was surprised to see something pretty decent. But there were several songs I liked off the Loads, such as Thorn Within, Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Hero of the Day, and Low Man's Lyric, and I was surprised to see it all just ignored. I had heard the new song "Frantic" from some web site, and I did like that song, though I hated the radio release "St. Anger" because it sounded too much like Nu-Metal. Not buying the CD though until I hear more songs; I don't trust them, the last decade produced albums with only a few good songs on them. Just my thoughts. -- -core_dump -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GCS/CC d- s-:+ a--- C+++ UL+ P L++++ E--- W++ N+++ o? K? w(--) O? M-- V? PS+(---) PE(++) Y+ PGP- t+ 5?
