Not much to explain except it is the old style pop-ups relying on Javascripts, nothing like the recent annoying ones relying on the Messenger core services. I support Tim Hortons portal PCs in Quebec and Eastern Ontario and I started getting numerous calls about those pop-ups. One "wannabee" tech told the clients to turn-off Javascripts...they all called me not long after, they were still getting pop-ups even with the browser closed and not using/having Messenger installed, just connected to their ISP... Explain that one. Anything Windows2000+ has Messenger core installed by default. If you installed IE 5.5+ you have Messenger core installed. If you don't and use IE 5 or Netscape, the buggers are in fact using some Javascripts to pop-up messages but are the old style pop-ups. the annoying pop-ups I see all the time are directly linked to the Messenger core service. Turning Javascriptoff can do nothing about it. Syl
