Hey, I like Avril Lavigne -- I mean, as much as one can like a 17 year old female pop artist in this day and age of manufactured video music. Someone here suggested that she needs singing lessons -- have you actually listened to her album? She has a GREAT voice. Listen to "Anything but Ordinary" -- that high note she hits puts goosebumps on my neck. I think she gets a lot of help on her writing however. I have an 11 year old daughter who thinks that the Beatles are the greatest group in the world (yes, I have taught her well), but she is still 11 and tunes into today's music. I think Avril is a welcome respite from the lip synching video sluts Britney and Christine. Heck, I even like the fact that Pink seems to be writing about something -- even if it is about herself. I recently came across some old cassettes I have of me performing at 17 years old. Although I am now a decent singer guitarist songwriter -- I totally sucked at that young age. Avril's talent as a high schooler is notable. Heck, I thought that George Harrison sucked until the mid-60's -- he grew nicely into his talent. All I am saying, is give Avril a chance....
