It all depends on what you think rock is. If you think that rock is an angry person screaming the lyrics and sounding like crap rather than being mellow and wanting to express the songs so people understand and sound good at the same time... then no, silverchair do not rock. I remember when Daniel used to scream lyrics and sound like a moron and he completely ruined the whole song when he did it - for me anyway. I say Daniel would rather give someone goosebumps when he/she listens to his songs rather than give headaches. We can't be 14 forever. I've not seen silverchair on stage lately, so I don't know if they go up there and just lightly swing side to side or anything, but what about this. Coldplay went to an awards show and had an entire orchestra backing them up while playing "Clocks". Their songs aren't of the rock persuasion, but ask anyone who saw that performance on TV or live. They'll tell you it ROCKED. I seriously just think you chose the wrong words. Silverchair still rock, in my opinion, they're just more MELLOW. P.S. people say that silverchair are maturing because it takes a lot of musical maturity to have so many different arranged instruments in one song rather than just picking up a guitar/bass/ and playing some drums. -Kathy -- " Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what IS that thing?!"
