Sat, Jun 28, 2003, 3:56pm (EDT-3) email-address-deleted (Phil=A0Crow) claims: <snip> I do have an electric-powered Bosch 25# chipping hammer and I can get a brick (or stonemason's) muscle-powered hammer for the finer work. How do I hold the smaller (6-12 inches across) rocks still and use the power of electricity and elbow grease to help dress the faces of these future pavers? <snip>=A0A Google search revealed next to nothing... My, my, you reallly want to punish yourself, don't you? You're thinking about this the complicated way. Try thinking the simple way instead: Hammer =3D hard work. Hard work =3D bad. Wood =3D wood saw. Rock =3D rock saw. People claim hard work never killed anyone, but I've never heard anyone who actually does hard work say that, just the people with desk jobs. But why take the chance? Try the magic google 8-ball again, and this time with "homemade rock saw". The result will be next to nothing, but enough to show how to make one. You could probably come up with something along the lines of a grinder or polisher that you just put the rock in, maybe a hinged weight to keep it in place, and leave it until it has a flat surface.
