If you can do a HECK of a lot with just guitar, bass and drums, then just imagine how much more you can do with more than that. And what is the matter with music appealing to "chicks"? The last time I checked, there were more women than men. If someones music appeals to women, then better records sells, right? Also, there are rock songs on Neon Ballroom and Diorama. Just because you're not banging your head to every song doesn't mean a thing. As for Counting Crows, Train, Hootie, and Ben Folds Five.. I always labeled most of them as one hit wonders or crap. Dave Matthews band, however; is much better than all of those bands. Dave Matthews music brings black and white people together and lovers together all the while rocking at the same time - what's wrong with that? In popular music, right now, a lot of the rock guys are bringing out mellow songs that actually have meaning. Two, that I've never liked anyway, are Kid Rock with Sheryl Crow and Uncle Kracker covering someone else's song. "Give me the beat boys and free my soul I wanna get lost in the rock and roll and drift away..." ~Kathy -- " Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what IS that thing?!" More instruments doesn't mean *better*. Most of > the greatest rock 'n roll ever produced was "just" guitar/bass/drums. > Check out Chuck Berry, for example.
