We've had nearly two years of inductions into various categories of
our Rec.Music.Rock-Pop-R&B.1950s Hall of Fame--the category rotating
by season with Fall (Artists), Winter (Singles), and Spring (pre-50s
singles) categories solidified. The Summer induction is less settled.
This year at least (as we decided on a few months ago), Summer is
finally time to honor the Great Albums of the decade.
Albums released as albums in the 1950s are eligible. Because the
1950s were so singles-driven, "best of" or "greatest hits" albums are
not eligible.
Everyone is invited to nominate up to seven (7) LPs. You can post
your nominations here for discussion, but also send your list to me so
I can count your contribution.
All submission sent by midnight of the evening of June 14 will be
considered. The 12 to 15 most mentioned albums will be our final
nominees. On June 15 we will begin the final vote, choosing the first
seven Great Albums inducted into the Rec.Music.Rock-Pop-R&B.1960s Hall
of Fame.
