Rock-N-Roll Benefit Played in Honor of Dewey Terry

NEWS UPDATE: Rock-N-Roll Benefit to Honor Dewey Terry Entertainer Don Wilson performed with Rock and Roll Greats earlier tonight in Irvine,California. Alan Clark (formerly with The Eddie Cochran band) kicked off the show with "Summertime Blues" and other Cochran hits. Jessica Sands performed "Stand By Me" and introduced her father Tommy Sands who sang two of his hits including the million selling,"Teenage Crush". After Sands' performance Don hit the stage with "Down The Line" written by Roy Orbison (from his forthcoming album) and tore the house down to thunderous applause and congratulations from the other Entertainers on the bill. Group shots were taken of Don and the other performers which will appear shortly in Don's Yahoo! Group. Following Don's performance Billy Swan performed his classic #1 hit,"I Can Help" followed by Rockabilly Legend Glen Glenn who performed his self penned hits,"One Cup Of Coffee" and "Everybody's Movin' ",the latter song also was recorded by Bob Dylan,Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. The other performers is a who's who of Rock and Roll and too numerous to list here.I am sure Don will tell you more about this special night himself. The show was taped professionally and the details will be reported as soon as they become available. Now onto some exciting news Billy Swan is scheduled to appear on Don's album and will record a duet with Don on "I Can Help"! Another duet planned for the recording session on Sunday is a duet with the original teen idol,Tommy Sands on his 1958 hit,"The Worrying Kind"!! Jewel Akens of "The Birds and The Bees" fame plans to be on hand at Don's session as does Donnie Brooks,60's film star known for his hit,"My love is higher than a 'Mission Bell' ". With Alan Clark on guitar,Gator Mc Kinley on bass (who frequently plays with Brian Setzer),Steve Moore on piano,Phillipe on drums and Glen Glenn as the producer -this album will truly be exciting,new and fresh with honest to good Rock and Roll and Rockabilly tunes galore!! There will also be some ballads thrown in for good measure. That's not all a major cable network may videotape the session for a airdate of June 19th (not confirmed). Stay tuned!!
