The Celtic Planet – linking Celts around the world Hello, and a warm welcome from David James and Christina Brundage to our new website at www.thecelticplanet.com The intention of this site is to present an enjoyable forum for Celtic enthusiasts of all ages and nationalities around the globe. In the troubled times that the world is passing through, we hope that The Celtic Planet will provide a place of positivity, inspiration, and useful information for folk worldwide with similar Celtic interests. FEATURES OF THE CELTIC PLANET. There are advertising sections on the site where you can promote to a worldwide audience your individual artwork, crafts, jewellery, books, CDs, and any other creative business that you would like others to see. There is a section where you can advertise holiday accommodation and retreats in the Celtic Countries or elsewhere. There is a music section where bands and musicians, music venues, CDs, cassettes, and DVDs and can receive a worldwide airing. There is also a message board and chat room where you can make contact worldwide with Celtic-minded friends who have similar interests to your own. The Culture section of The Celtic Planet contains a brief historical overview of the Celts, followed by individual illustrated articles on specific sites and subjects. Contributions are welcomed if you have an interesting article and pictures to share. There is a Booklist section where you can find many interesting titles on all Celtic subjects – you can email further suggestions for addition to the list! There is also a "Links" section, which is available to organisations and Centres promoting Celtic culture, history, art, languages and related subjects. We warmly invite you to join The Celtic Planet, whether by submitting an article and picture of your favourite ancient site, or any other specific Celtic subject – joining the chat room and message board – or advertising your art, craftwork, jewellery, music, books, local and international Festivals, and any other Celtic businesses to a worldwide audience. The site is run jointly by Christina in USA and David in Britain. Do feel free to contact either of us via the website for further information. Some of you may remember David as being the editor of Celtic Connections magazine for ten years, and also as a writer of Celtic books. Times and technology move on, and we are now working through the colourful medium of the internet to promote Celtic art, crafts, music, history, local and international festivals, and all Celtic-related subjects. With the increasing use of digital cameras, superb colour images of ancient Celtic sites, contemporary art and craftwork, festivals, ancient monuments, artefacts, and much more, can be made readily accessible.
