I few weeks ago I came across a great online-only station that operates out of a small cabin in Talkeetna Alaska. They are called Whole Wheat Radio and they play a lot of acoustic music with the great majority being independent music. It's one of the most interactive stations I have seen with requests taken (and played pretty quickly) and a running chat going on, and the guy who runs it does a great job, truly a labor of love. They even have a song with Led Kaapana in it on their playlist (getting the "hawaiian music" reference in). Their URL is http://www.wholewheatradio.org Come join us in the chat, say hello! But be careful, you might get hooked once you start listening. Oh, before I forget, if you are an artist who would like some airplay to a world-wide audience , the station is very much into receiving your music and they will add you to their playlist. As an artist you can also track how many times your music was played, how many times it was requested and how many people heard the songs. They post your website and a contact email during the time your song plays so you can get contacts and sell your music. They could use Hawaiian music on this station to round things out and this would be a great opportunity for you to branch out in a new way. Here is more info on the station and it's philosophy as well as how to get your music to them: http://www.wholewheatradio.com/wwcastplay.htm and yes it is all as rustic as it looks.... Just passing on a good thing. BH60
