Kapono's has Led Kaapana and an audience full of talented friends on
most Tuesday nights, but he's traveling a lot this summer. Should be
there 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, and 7/15.
Chai's Island Bistro has quite a lineup but the shows are short and the
meals are pricey. There's a $20 per person minimum. Robert Cazimero solo
on Tuesdays, Brothers Caz Wednesdays, Keli`i Kaneali`i and Bobby Ingano
on Sundays, Jerry Santos on Mondays. Can't remember for sure who's on
Thursday and Friday, but my fuzzy memory wants it to be Jake Shimabukuru
on Thursday and Barry Flannigan on Friday.
They're starting to do Hawaiian music in the "mall" area of Aloha Tower,
replacing the hula show that they had hoped would replace the Kodak Hula
Show. I don't have the details, but was glad to hear they're committed
(more or less) to Hawaiian entertainment.
Gordon Biersch at Aloha Tower often features Hawaiian music, lots of
Sunday shows and quite a few CD release parties. Mike Kaawa's is coming
up June 29 at Gordon Biersch.
Don Ho's Island Grill has Hawaiian music from time to time, but no
steady gigs I'm aware of.
