What proportion of words in a typical Hindi movie song can be replaced
by an equivalent Sanskritic Hindi word? What proprotion are Sanskritic
and can be replaced by an equivalent Urdu word?
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~navin/india/songs/
For an example:
mErA jIvan kOrA kAgaz
contains one Sanskritic word that can be replaced by an Urdu word:
jIvan can be replaced by zindagi.
I don't know whether there are any Urdu words that can be replaced by
Sanskritic words (are there Sanskritic equivalents for kOrA and
kAgaz?).
So, this particular line seems like Hindi rather than Urdu.
