The song is very ordinary. Its claim to fame is that it
was Talat's first song for Hindi films. This was his only
song in the Calcutta film Rajlaxmi (1945). One more
non-film song in Talat's voice ('is jag se') has been
mistakenly attributed to the film by many sources
including the hfgk. Hamraaz discovered after publication
of the hfgk that 'jaago musaafir' was the only song by
Talat in his debut film. In some passages, it is
difficult to erase the impression that one is listening
to Raam Chitalkar and not Talat. HMV's 78 disc # N-16688
has the non-film song 'is jag se' on one side and this
Rajlaxmi solo on the other.
