Some comments on the Khurshid Anwar songs

Hi RMIMers:
Here are some comments on the 20 Khurshid Anwar songs that I posted on
my website after Irfan Anwar sent them to me. I must warn that some of
these things may not be obvious at first listening.
Song KA-01: goTe daa haar from ku.Damaaii (1941) Shanker Jaikishan were inspired by this song in their 'merii
aa.Nkho.n me.n bas gayaa koii re' (barasaat 1949) in both sthaaii and
antaraa. Introduction of song #3 in CD #1 of S N Tripathi's commemorative
CDs given out at the recent Denver RMIM meet, 'meraa baalam guiyaa.n
(sevaa 1942) is exactly the same as the introduction of this song KA-01.
Song KA-07: duniyaa hai ye pyaar kii duniyaa from parakh (1944) The table on my web page appears to be in error. HFGK says this
song is from parakh 1944. Irfan and his uncle (actual as opposed to the
mythical one RMIMers keep talking about!) are not sure but this might be
her first song in films (she sang two songs in parakh).
Song KA-11: jhulanaa Dalaa de from pagaDa.nDii (1947) 'havaa me.n u.Dataa jaaye meraa laal dupaTTaa malamala kaa'
(barasaat 1949got inspiration from the introduction music of this song
KA-11. Shanker played dholak for this film. Roshan got inspired from KA-11 for naii umr kii naii fasal song
'mero saiyaa.N gulabiyaa kaa phuul, hamaaro ra.ng kesariyaa' sung by
suman kalyanpur and minu purushottam.
Song KA-15: kaisii muralii bajaaii from nishaanaa (1950) KA helped Roshan for baavare nayan and ham log. In particular, he
gave the mukha.Daa of this Geeta song to Roshan for 'sun bairii balam
sach bol re ib kyaa hogaa'.
Song KA-17: dharak dharak tere bin from singaar (1949) According the Asha Geet Kosh, Asha sang in the chorus of this
song, and it is the only song in which Asha and Suraiya sang together
ever. Roshan was the assistant MD in singaar.
