None of the songs mentioned below have 'scale changes'. 'Guzar jaaye din' is in F-minor and stays in F-Minor, only the chord progression is a little unusual or should I say quite interesting. Please don't jump into the bandwagon of identifying songs with 'scale changes' without understanding the grammer of it. A 'scale' or a 'key' has a certain number of 'flat's or 'sharps' and that is fixed for a particular key. So, if a song is composed in the key of 1-flat (i.e. the key of F) then it remains in this key until the composer changes to another key with a different number of 'flats' or 'sharps'. The staff-notation identifies that in its 'signature'. This technique is common in the western music but has been very rare in the Hindi Film music. Salil did compose a few songs with key-changes in Bengali such as 'Shono Kono akdin' sung by Hemant. It starts in the key of Ab-Major, and changes to A-Major in the second part and then again to Bb-Major in the third part. His other Bengali song which he himself sang 'Ei Roko' also has three key-changes. His most remarkable composition in Bengali 'Runner' also sung by Hemant has 6 key changes and he explains it beautifully in a lecture on "Composition and harmony" which he gave at the Rabindra-Bharati University in Calcutta a few years before his death. In Hindi, Asha also did a superb job with 'Hai jawaan dil ke mere armaan'. This is the hindi version of 'Ei Roko' and is one of Salil's rare hindi film songs in the film "Room no. 203" whcih has three key-changes.
