Every Saturday evening out of Berkeley California
there is good latin music on 94.1 FM which can
also be heard online at kpfa.org. Just find the
download method for streaming audio that works
for you. There are several options presented at
the site. I am right now listening to Emiliano
Escheverria who is doing a tribute to Compay
Segundo. He is playing rare old 78s and giving a
historical perspective of his musical career. At
9 pm there will be a tribute to Celia Cruz. This
is some of the most informative and enjoyable
radio available anywhere. Check it out. There are
other DJs on other Sat. nights. Emiliano's
programs (Roots of Salsa) are especially
interesting because he goes to great lengths to
provide rare old recordings you have never heard.
He is an avid and deep collector of Cuban music.
Many people make it a point to record his
programs in their entirety.
