Maybe you are referring to Tamil cinema icon MGR who was fanatically reverred in Tamil Nadu. Yeah the Tamil folk are known to do such things like building temples for their stars. Its strange just like the obsession for old actors in America. I've read that George Clooney all of 45 years old had been voted the sexiest man once. LOL.
